“I am writing to share my very positive experience getting an Australian Shepherd puppy from Isabel Hackney at Rocky Top Farm. After searching many breeders, I came across the new litter she was looking to rehome and inquired. Isabel responded quickly, answered all my questions, provided all information about adopting a puppy, including personal questionnaire, fees, and vet updates, as well as specific questions about the breed, and the parent dogs. We were welcome at the farm and allowed as much time as we wished for myself and my children to get acquainted with both parent dogs and the puppies. My kids and I were able to handle the puppies and watch the interactions, and the parent dogs were also very gentle and accepting of this, and very friendly to us strangers. We were under no pressure to decide, and spent some time there playing with the puppies. Eventually one particular puppy chose us actually, snuggling into my daughter’s arms and contentedly falling asleep. We knew right away she was “the one” and the kids loved her instantly. Over the following weeks Isabel sent us pictures so we could see our puppy grow and so we felt she was ours right from the minute we chose her. Since then we have kept in touch with the brother and sister dogs through a Facebook page of the litter, so we can see how all the pups are doing and share information, ask questions, and stay connected to the litter, and it’s wonderful to follow all the pups as they grow up. In comparison, other breeders were often much less open, very strict, applied too much pressure, or had too many restrictive rules we, as potential owners, were expected to follow. Isabel Hackney was refreshingly accommodating, honest, and approachable in comparison. Our dog from Rocky Top Farm is absolutely delightful. The experience was positive from the start and the relationship with the farm is ongoing through Facebook. I would readily recommend them to any family looking for a puppy and would look no further for another pup for this family, if/when the time comes again.”

“Our research directed us to a cattle/shepherd breed. After going through the questionnaire and attentive chats with our dog’s breeder Isabel… she suggested an Australian Shepherd puppy; here is why: we go kayaking, have a 3 year old, and have friends coming in and out consistently. Australian Shepherd fit that ticket. Our girl loves the water, she does not leave our sons side under any circumstance and is the mayor of our street… she greets every dog at the park and all the kids walking to school want to say hi to her… I’m talking about a young dog with an unbelievable temperament. “As a newbie dealing with breeders, I was unsure of what to expect, Isabel made the process so easy for me. The application was simple and communication between us was and still is wonderful. Any questions and concerns I had were promptly and fully answered. As we had the extra complication of covid this was very reassuring. Every possible step was taken for the good health of her family, my family and the puppies. The puppies had wonderful care, socialization and experiences making for very well rounded and agreeable pups. Our pup Boomer is not our first puppy but he is our first Aussie and we are learning and growing together. We're working through the teenage stage right now so things have been challenging but so worthwhile. He has been the greatest joy to us over the 8 months we have had him. He is extremely smart, learns quickly, has a wonderful disposition and is so cuddly. He is an amazingly busy boy but so full of personality. He works his busy off by walking, playing with his toys, other pups and us inside and out. When he's in his mellow mood he relaxes usually anywhere and not too far from us. He is also crate trained and has no problem with it. He has gone to obedience classes and was very well behaved. We are also looking at Daycare a couple times a week in the new year for him to be able to socialize more with other pups as he gets some playtime but not as much as he would like. He loves being with other pups. He is also in the best of health according to our vet, he has had all his needles, been neutered and come through with flying colors. Our experience with Isabel continues to this day following each other on Facebook and through our litter group we get to see his siblings grow as well. I am so beyond happy that we got Boomer from Isabel and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an Australian Shepherd as you can see the love and care she puts into breeding and keeping in contact with us and the pups born from her pups.”
